Groundhog Day 2 February

groundhog Groundhog Day 2 February

groundhog day

Today is Groundhog Day in The United States and Canada.A celebration that has been passed down from generations and is still celebrated to this day. Many refer to the 1993 film with Bill Murray where his day was repeated over and over until he got it right. But this is not the case, the celebration comes from the old Scottish couplet: “If Candlemas Day is bright and clear, there’ll be two winters in the year.” According to folklore if a ground-hog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end.If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.
People celebrate this day with different events ,some have early morning parades to watch the ground-hog leave its burrow, and celebrate the day with speeches food and celebrations.

Getting Out Of Debt United Kingdom

debt Getting Out Of Debt United Kingdom

debt

Getting out of debt can cause major stress in your life We all over spend and We all go over our budget.
So how do we deal with it? Well the easy answer is not to do any of the above, but none of us stick to that rule because we all want our little luxuries in life. The holidays the nice cars the bigger house the plasma television the list is endless, then the children come into the picture wanting all the latest trendy clothes and latest computer and gaming releases.
My Grandma was great with money and budgeting She had little jars all marked with the relevant bill,Gas Electric,Water the dreaded Poll Tax, Catalogue it was a good system.Every week when She got paid She would put money in her little jars and when the Bill came the money was there,She never used a bank but put her jars under her bed for safe keeping. Unfortunately I am not like my Grandma was.
The question is how do we get out of debt?Well that all depends on how much debt you are in to deliberate what the best action is to take.
If you are in serious debt over £25000 and above I would seriously consider Bankruptcy. This option should always be a last resort it costs about £518 for the bankruptcy order, which in some cases you can get help with the funding from various organisations, and if you go bankrupt it has a lot of restrictions.
For example bankruptcy official receivers can seize various assets from you, and once you are bankrupt it is at least 5 years before you can even be considered for any sort of credit. You can get more information about bankruptcy from the Insolvency Service Website
If your debts are under this amount then there are various ways to get them paid off, many companies are now set up to help you with debts but most charge a little to help you. They do not take payment all at once but they add a little on top of your payments to compensate for their work, example:if you owe £250 they will keep taking payments until you have paid £280. Usually they take on your debt and split what you can afford between your creditors, this method is great if you do not want any stress.
The method I use to clear my debts takes a little bit of work and some postage stamps.First make a list of all your debts, then draft a letter in a template stating the following facts.
1.Your Name and address and a reference to the company or debt you owe [with regards to]
2.Start letter with Dear Sir/Madam
3.Write a brief note stating that you are at this moment in time that you are in financial difficulty.
4.Explain that you are willing to pay the debt but you can not at this moment in time afford to pay all the outstanding amount.
5.State that you will send a break down of your income and expenditures.
6.Finish letter with Thank you for understanding my predicament.
7.Add note that all correspondents should sent by letter and not by phone.
After you have drafted template send it out to all your relevant creditors
Next stage write a valid income and expenditure letter and send also to your creditors, always make sure you state what you can afford.Once the creditors receive your income and expenditure 90% of the time they will accept a smaller payment from you as long as you keep up your payment to them you should have no more problems from them.

Why Does Everything Cost So Much Money?

money up in smoke

money up in smoke

Why Does Everything Cost So Much Money? I am talking in general of course things like Utility Bills, gas, water, and electricity, petrol, car insurance, mobile phone bills, internet connections, television extras like Sky and other similar companies, credit Cards and Bank Loans and Charges.
Well I think I have an answer to this question I might be wrong and we could just blame the Government for over spending on the Budget, or blame the Banks for lending us to much money to start with so we all get in serious debt and can not pay them back.
The question we have to ask about is are they really to blame? Of course all the factors contributed to it in the first place but the reality is we are to blame for this financial mess,we are the ones who caused it in the first place.
Here is the reason why.First of all most households now have two working people it is not like it was where the wife stayed at home and looked after the children, this is the start of the financial struggle. If you have 2 people working usually that means 2 lots of transport cars, scooters, or public transport costs, which also mean two lots of fuel and two lots of insurance and road tax. Then everyone has a house with furniture and televisions and a mobile phone each.Next the children come along and they need clothes and feeding, when they get older they want console games and mobile phones and computers or laptops and the designer clothes.
So whats my point in stating these facts? Lets look at the big picture. If everybody does this which 90% of families do. It means that we buy double the amount fuel for our transport double road tax double insurance,we also buy twice as many mobile phones and televisions and clothes and games consoles the list is endless of how much extra things we buy for our daily lives.
This means that the companies that give us these services have to make more products to compensate for the extra business, which means more transport more utility costs more staff wages for these companies in the long-term they make a profit and put the prices up to make more profit.
The fuel companies get a bigger demand for more fuel which then puts the cost of fuel up across the Globe. The utilities water, gas, electricity companies get a surge every morning when people get ready for work and in the evening when people return home from work and children come home from school, this is when everyone makes food and in the evening people put the kettle on for a cup of tea or coffee, plus in the evenings the plasma televisions which most have more that one get turned on and the games consoles, computers and other electrical items get switched on.People rush around using washing machines to get their clothes ready for the next day and then most have a dishwasher because it is quicker than washing the pots.Which in turn uses more Water and Gas to heat the water, plus most households have central heating installed, all these factors put more of a strain on our utilities and the companies then compensate with putting up the costs.
Here is the facts of how it works we get paid more money because two people are working in the household, which in turn puts more strain on businesses, fuel companies, utility companies, government agencies [highways agencies etc] to give us a better service, which then puts the price up to compensate for the cost of living.
This now affects the Banks the business borrow from the banks to improve services because of the demand. We also borrow from the Banks and credit card companies to buy the products or to pay the bills, we re mortgage and borrow more and more to keep up with the neighbors and the latest trends.
Banks say yes to our demands because they make a profit on our loans,Credit Cards are offering better interest to get more people to borrow, this then makes them more profit, everything has a roll on effect.
Then we find ourselves in Debt, living above our means people can not afford the repayments on Loans and Credit Cards. They can not borrow more because they are now a risk and the Banks will not take a gamble to get them out of the financial mess they are in.Bankruptcy is the next step the Banks lose money because the Debt is not being paid.
Next step Government has to bail out the Banks because of the massive losses they have made, our taxes go up to compensate the massive loss in Government funds.Business struggle to get backing from the Banks to get loans to make more profit.Businesses start having to make cuts to compensate for loss.Unemployment rises.
Eventually everything balances and we come out of Recession but at a cost of Taxes going up and Banks being more aware of lending policies, basically if they are not guaranteed that their money is safe they will not lend.
The reason we everything costs so much money is our own fault,we caused this to happen with our demand in daily life, the Banks contributed by letting us borrow in the first place. But it is our own selfish lifestyle that made this happen.

Why is there so much Flu going around

flu Why is there so much Flu going around

flu

Why is there so much Flu going around i have had it 3 times this year.
I know there is a swine flu epidemic but i am sure i have not had that.
I keep myself reasonably fit and try to diet and eat the correct amount of vitamins a day i take my 5 a day vegetables and fruit.
I am no different to all the years before this one but never have a had Flu 3 times in one year if i am very unlucky i will get flu every 3 years for about i week then it is gone again, this year though is different.
Everywhere i look everyone seems to have the sniffles or coughing or sneezing i think this year has been the worst so far for the majority of people.
Peoples habits do not help when they are in public shopping or just out and about i see them coughing or sneezing and then touching shelves doors and other things this passes on the bug.
The weather over here in the United Kingdom have not helped this year it has been either raining or freezing or both.
I used to work cleaning drains for a company and my immune system was a lot higher because i was working in a dirty environment, but even though it has not gone down that much for me to get this bug 3 times.
You can get flu jabs from the doctor but surely this is not the answer our immune systems should battle it out in a natural way or beable to get rid of the bug initially.
Another thing comes to mind when i see things like this happening especially to myself. I was watching a program on television the other month it was about how Supermarkets add extra things to our food to make them more presentable on the shelf and to give the food more shelf life, it was interesting how they injected water into things to make them look bigger, they also added extra supplements to prolong the shelf life of the food. This can not be healthy and if they are doing this it must add extra or take away some of the vitamins in the food. I know it will be monitored from a governing body but it is still not good and it must in some way also effect our immune systems that is just my thoughts on this matter.
I shall close this post now still sneezing and coughing please feel free to add your thoughts and comments !Thank you for reading my post !

Beast Of Buckshaw Village

Beast of Buckshaw

Beast of Buckshaw

Is it another myth or the truth residents in the Village of Buckshaw near Chorley Lancashire have been reporting the sighting of a Beast a cross between a wild boar and a wolf.
This is the savage beast blamed for mauling animals in and around the Village. Tony Kenvig who has spotted the beast on a few occasions rifling through the rubbish bins said “All the rubbish was strewn over my garden one night I heard snuffles and looked out of my window and saw some kind of hyena stood rigid on its back legs.”
Another Witness Shelley Levene who lives in Buckshaw Village said she has also seen the beast and quotes “I have two Alsations, both ex-police dogs. I saw it going through my bins.

“I couldn’t understand why they weren’t barking, so I went down to investigate and they were shaking and cowering in their kennel.

“Just the scent of this thing must have been enough to spook them.
“I no longer walk the streets of Buckshaw alone at night anymore and would advise all other residents to start to be vigilant.

“This beast in dangerous.”
John Russell, who photographed the beast on Dawson Lane, Quoted: “This is crazy. I can’t work out what it is.
“This was no boar. I saw it move and it had a feline movement. They say it’s to blame for the recent deer slayings.”
The Beast is still roaming the area and is thought to have killed other animals like cat and dogs.
If anyone has spotted the beast please comment on this post Thank you for reading
